CHILDREN’S MEDITATION

FEATURING THE JĀTAKA TALES OF THE BUDDHA

WEDNESDAY MAY 27TH 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. EST via ZOOM CONFERENCING

Hosted by Sister Vernice Meytung

In this Zoom sitting, we will continue our adventures in the fascinating world of the Jātaka Tales. We will all share in the storytelling of The Baby Quail / Vattaka Jātaka. The focus of our meditation will be on the element of ‘fire’. During our last sitting, the element of ‘water’ was strongly featured. Please have blank paper and crayons (or markers/colored pencils) on hand, as one of our meditations will be a ‘coloring-meditation’ practice. Although there are many canonical sayings of the Buddha in the Tales, for the most part, the stories themselves predate the Buddha by hundreds of years. They are ancient, rich, and textured. Perfect for both the young…and the young at heart!
